Hi-Cone, a division of ITW,  is a leading global supplier of ring carrier multi-packaging systems for the Alcohol & Non-Alcoholic Ready to Drink (NARTD) beverage markets, providing sustainable secondary packaging solutions to major Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) companies.  Hi-Cone is looking to change the way the world sees secondary multipackaging for the beverage industry. Salary Range for this position is $95K - $125K.  Must have experience cradle-to-grave product management experience with a physical product.  Digital product management experience will not be considered. 

Job Description

Are you passionate about sustainability and innovation? Join our team as a Product Manager – Sustainable Products and lead our division's growth through strategic portfolio development. We are looking for a dynamic individual who can navigate market needs, customer expectations, and the evolving environmental landscape to drive sustainable product initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

New Product Development:

  • Lead and manage the entire New Product Development (NPD) process, from concept to launch, utilizing frameworks like StageGate.
  • Gather and apply voice of customer (VOC) insights and industry data to create innovative products that meet global regulatory and NGO standards.
  • Oversee new product rollouts, including volume forecasting, market tests, internal training, and communication plans.
  • Develop comprehensive business cases for new product innovations and enhancements.
  • Project manage through the stage gate process using ITW’s approved framework.

Product Portfolio Management:

  • Support and execute the strategy for managing Hi-Cone’s existing portfolio of carriers and machines.
  • Analyze product category performance and collaborate with divisional leaders to enhance sales and profitability.
  • Improve profitability through pricing and obsolescence initiatives, and support capacity planning efforts.
  • Assist in long-range and annual planning, focusing on SKU rationalization, pricing, promotions, and product mix optimization.

Commercial Execution:

  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies and launch plans for key customers.
  • Collaborate with third-party suppliers and co-developers to identify and bring new product concepts to market.
  • Partner with the commercial team to communicate updates and articulate the value proposition to key customers.

Value Proposition for Sustainability:

  • Define and communicate the product line’s value proposition, ensuring competitive positioning.
  • Develop and execute product marketing activities for novel solutions.
  • Lead the preparation of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) analyses for customers, reinforcing Hi-Cone’s Sustainability Value Proposition.
  • Represent Hi-Cone to customers, partners, and external stakeholders as a sustainability advocate.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, marketing, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in product management and product launches of a physical product
  • Exceptional organizational, negotiation, project management, and presentation skills.
  • Flexibility and agility in handling unexpected events.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Competence in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record with ITW’s customer-back innovation framework.
  • Based on-site at Hi-Cone’s Itasca, IL headquarters (Chicago suburb), with up to 20% travel.
