Position Summary:

Based in our Stamford office, the Bone Densitometry Technologist performs diagnostic Dexa procedures, reviews necessary documentation related to the procedure and performs related clinical duties such as X-ray and/or Mammography.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated interest in meeting patient needs and assuring patient satisfaction.
  • Operating knowledge of radiographic equipment.
  • Performs all bone density procedures including X-ray and or mammography.
  • Reviews all necessary documentation to perform diagnostic procedures.
  • Performs preventative visual and manual inspections for room and equipment assigned ensuring appropriate maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Performs related clinical and clerical duties associated with the patient procedure.
  • Assists in the managing of procedures through the coordination of resources, to facilitate optimal efficiency. Assures that the procedures performed are in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Performs warm up calibration procedures necessary to ready the equipment for patient imaging.
  • Assists in the procurement of necessary supplies.
  • Informs the manager of any equipment needing repair to ensure prompt service.
  • Contributes to a positive climate and open communication for a team approach.
  • Maintains certification and licensure as well as continuing education.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrate commitment to excellence in patient care and exceptional customer service.
  • Knowledge of radiographic equipment.

  • Computer background with application understanding, especially RIS/PACS software knowledge.
  • Strong desire to learn and eager to take on new responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, highly professional environment.

Educational Requirements:

  • College degree preferred
  • ARRT (RT)(R) and CT State License required
  • ARRT (RT)(R)(M)(BD) preferred
