Zion Church is growing rapidly and is searching for experienced candidates for the position of a Senior Procurement Specialist. The Senior Procurement Specialist provides leadership and facilitation responsibilities for planning, execution, and communication to support all purchases in accordance with Zion Church procurement policy and procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Ensures that the Procurement Policy and related procedures are strictly applied.
  • Collaborates with management, department heads, ministry leaders and external partners to ensure an efficient transactional administrative workflow as a trusted business partner.
  • Self-manages their workload and assists the Finance Team, as necessary, to complete requisite duties for achievement of customer service levels.
  • Identifies supplier contract needs, negotiates supplier and vendor contracts, and make changes or addendums to existing contracts and communicates with the necessary department heads.
  • Assists in the development, implementation and monitoring of the procurement strategy, policy and procedures.
  • Receives and analyzes requests for materials, goods and services.
  • Assists the organization's business areas to identify requirements.
  • Fosters competition among suppliers, leverages agreements across the organization, manages risk and promotes cost savings and reductions where possible.
  • Ensure appropriate leverage is utilized to consistently achieve the lowest price and best value.
  • Maintain supportive relationships and communicate regularly with qualified, consistent and reputable supplier sources, while locating, researching and expanding supplier base.
  • Negotiates pricing and business terms and, when appropriate, coordinates purchase effort with the Risk Department to minimize risk.
  • Manages vendor on-boarding, due diligence, and risk-rating.
  • Receives, reviews and processes purchase requisitions.
  • Places and manages orders with external suppliers and internal suppliers.
  • Works closely with internal stakeholders, Zion's managers and department heads, to gather requirements and specifications.
  • Assists project managers on large capital expenditure projects.
  • Audits vendors on a regular basis along with supplier quality.


QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • A Bachelor's Degree in one of the following fields: Business, Finance, Accounting, Business/Administration, Management, Economics, Supply Chain Management is preferred but not required.
  • Intermediate to expert MS Office applications Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Familiarity with NetSuite or an Oracle financial application.
  • Procurement  and supply chain processes.
  • Familiarity with purchasing policy and procedures.
  • 3-years of experience utilizing a contract management or a procure-to-pay system.
  • Previous experience in managing large capital projects.
  • Strong at relationship building across all levels and highly collaborative with multiple layers in an organization.
  • Hands-on experience in supplier relationships and knowledge of purchasing practices and policies. 
  • Ability to effectively present projects, statuses, to all levels of management within Zion Church's hierarchy. 
  • An excellent ability to communicate with internal business partners and suppliers.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law and contract management.
  • Proficient in purchasing negotiation techniques.
