Summary: The Direct Support Professional 3 will provide support and assistance in Level 3 residential programs. Staff will provide support to individuals who need daily intervention, supervision, and skills training in activities of daily living while managing within a home environment and in the community. Individuals may require physical assistance or accommodation.

Schedule: Sunday 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Monday 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Friday 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM, Saturday 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM (33 hours)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide support and assist individuals with skills training in all activities of daily living.
  2. Create opportunities and provide support to individuals to make decisions to develop their skills and foster independence.
  3. Provide services to individuals according to DDS, DMH, MassHealth, HUD, DPH, CARF, and all applicable regulatory standards, as well as Bridgewell policies and procedures.
  4. Provide support and assist individuals with all medical, clinical, and financial needs.
  5. Transport and accompany individuals as needed to and from medical, recreational, and other activities outside the program.
  6. Maintain required documentation according to DDS, DMH, MassHealth, HUD, DPH, CARF, and all applicable regulatory standards as well as Bridgewell policies and procedures.
  7. Assist individuals with accessing resources and recreational opportunities in the community.
  8. Administer medications according to MAP regulations, as applicable.
  9. Maintain core training certifications including FA/CPR, PABC, and MAP.
  10. Maintain additional mandated certifications and training as required by the program.
  11. Develop positive relationships with guardians, family members, and other stakeholders.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

Required Education/Experience:

  1. Must have a high school diploma or GED - Associate's Degree or DSP Certification Preferred.
  2. A minimum of 1 year of experience working with people with developmental or psychiatric disabilities is preferred.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  1. Excellent written and oral communication skills so that the writing of required documents is clear and articulate.
  2. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  3. Valid driver's license and minimum of one year of driving experience.
  4. Computer literacy includes the ability to use proficiently Microsoft products and web-based applications used by the agency.

Physical Demands:

  1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to climb stairs.
  2. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  3. The employee must be able to drive a vehicle and regularly meet the driving record requirements of the agency.
  4. Must have a normal range of eyesight with or without corrective lenses.
  5. Must have a normal range of hearing with or without corrective equipment.
