We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Support Professional to join our team at Anoka-Hennepin School District. As a key member of our educational staff, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs in the classroom.
Responsibilities- Assist students with daily living skills, including toileting, feeding, and self-care procedures.
- Implement behavioral management programs to promote positive student outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student data and records.
- Work collaboratively with students displaying challenging behaviors to develop strategies for success.
- Perform physical tasks in the school building, including lifting and moving equipment as needed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Personal Care Assistant certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Completion of 60 semester/90 quarter credits or an associate degree from an accredited institution, ParaEducator exam, or ParaPro exam is necessary.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
- Ability to work effectively with technology and computers is required.
- Strong ability to work cooperatively with students and staff is necessary.
- Ability to supervise students and take direction is essential.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds is required.
- Physical and emotional readiness for student support is necessary.
The hourly rate for this position is $18.00, with higher pay rates available for candidates with additional education and experience. Additional compensation may be provided for serving specific student populations.
