A Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with the assigned account and he/she ensure that these key accounts receive the highest level of service and attention. The role involves understanding clients' needs, developing strategic plans to meet those needs, and working closely with various internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction. Key Account Managers also aim to drive sales growth by identifying new opportunities within these key accounts and often serve as the primary point of contact between the client and the company.
Responsibilities:
- Primary point of contact and coordination for all facets of the business with assigned accounts
- Achieve sales growth and exploit the sales potential for assigned accounts, with a focus on developing long term relationships and maximizing sales opportunities and product visibility.
- Analyze all data reporting weekly, using knowledge to drive sales while managing healthy, profitable partnerships.
- Participate in the definition and development of budgets in order to meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives, in accordance with the Company Target and Choices.
- Present seasonal collections to accounts; make recommendations based on sales performance, merchandising opportunities and trends.
- Write recommended orders for some clients. Drive the business by identifying reorder and replenishment opportunities. Review all orders.
- Track and manage Purchase Orders to ensure timely and complete shipping
- Work with Demand Planning to maintain accurate initial forecasting by collection based on distribution history and goals.
- Work with Trade Marketing to develop specific activities to drive sales and uses sell-in and sell-thru analysis to determine project ROI
- Travel as needed
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum 5 years of previous experience in Retail Planning, Wholesale or Buying;
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with customers to develop strong long term relationships.
- Excellent analytical skills with strong understating of retail math and sales planning.
- Ability to communicate clearly across all levels of the organization
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
- Organized, driven and detail oriented
- Positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel
- SAP experience a plus
