Position Title: Education Liaison
Reports To: Executive Director / Regional Director
Location: The Woodlands, TX
Position Type: Part-Time
Position Summary: The Education Liaison provides educational support to adolescents in our outpatient facility, ensuring their academic needs are met while they receive mental health or addiction treatment. This role involves close communication with the adolescents' Independent School District (ISD), understanding each student's academic requirements, overseeing assignments, and reporting progress to ensure a seamless educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Offer educational guidance to all adolescent clients.
- Plan and schedule academic services tailored to individual client needs.
- Maintain regular contact with clients' school districts to ensure academic requirements are fulfilled.
- Support students in their academic endeavors, including virtual education opportunities.
- Provide weekly progress reports to the home school district and parents.
- Participate in treatment team meetings, collaborating positively with other team members.
- Present educational programming to potential partners.
- Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Education or related field. Master's degree or doctorate a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of teaching experience, preferably at the high school level. Experience working in mental health or addiction setting is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of confidentiality, HIPAA, and Title 42 CFR regulations.
- Thorough knowledge of education laws and Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirements.
- Ability to exhibit professional conduct at all times.
- Certifications: Current teaching certificate recognized by the Texas Education Agency.
- Primarily works in an office setting within the outpatient facility.
