We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to lead our accounting department and contribute to our continued success and growth.
Job Description:

As a Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of our company, implementing robust financial controls, and establishing best practices to ensure financial health and compliance. Your role will be crucial in supporting our growth, optimizing our accounting and financial strategies, and leading a team of talented accountants.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and establish best practices in financial management, ensuring data integrity.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure accuracy of financial reporting and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Revenue Recognition and Payroll.
  • Coordinate and oversee the month-end closing process and prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements for executives and third-party financial institutions.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and tax filings.
  • Collaborate with financial analyst on the status of construction projects including budgets, expenditures, and projections.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accountants, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Address complex accounting issues employing a strong understanding of accounting principles and industry standards.
  • Implement and optimize financial software and systems, with a specific requirement for Vista software experience.
  • Ensure strict compliance with GAAP across all financial operations and reporting.
  • Assess and mitigate financial risks, implementing strategies to safeguard company assets and financial stability.
     
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Controller or similar leadership role in finance, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Five + years experience in finance, accounting management preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Expertise in managing financials for high-growth operations.
  • Demonstrable experience with creating financial controls and establishing financial best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, especially complex accounting issues.
  • Experience with Vista software is essential.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience leading a team of accountants.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in risk management and compliance.
