Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Maintenance position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems at the corporate office building in Knoxville, TN.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include replacing light bulbs, repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures, as well as routine maintenance on building systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing.
  • Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
  • Plans repair work using building’s blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
  • Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
  • Respond to emergency repair issues that occur outside of regular working hours,
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of general carpentry and repair to include minor electrical, plumbing, and sheetrock/drywall repairs.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Check the maintenance log in the main office & fix any problems
  • Pretreat parking lot, sidewalks for safety of patrons in anticipation of icy conditions due to weather.
  • Work on any preventive duties
  • Contact professionals concerning problems that need to be fixed that require a specialized technician.
  • Report any problems that would interfere with tenant satisfaction to the building manager
  • Keep the storage area clean everyday
  • Ensure that there are enough maintenance supplies on each floor
  • Lock all storage areas before clocking out
  • Place any newly delivered supplies in the stock room
  • Verify that all exterior lights are working properly
  • Report & fixes any safety hazards throughout the building
  • Assist owner with property maintenance for his home and grounds in Lenoir City, to include similar repairs and arranging repairs that require a specialized technician. 
Experience/Education:
  • Highschool Diploma/GED required
  • Completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience preferred
  • Knowledge of basic electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC systems, construction materials, and general construction.
  • An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred
  • Three years’ experience in building maintenance and/or construction may be considered in lieu of education.
Physical Requirements
  • Regular lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling from 50 to 75lbs
  • Climbing stairs regularly
  • Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching
  • Frequent standing and walking during shift
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions

Full Time, $25.00 per hour. PTO and benefits offered.
