Job Description

Summary:

Coordinates and supports programs to attract new business to First Financial, as well as assists with the implementation of programs which increases our penetration with existing business partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Complies and follows Bank Secrecy Act regulations.
  • Recruits new business accounts and potential business loan relationships.
  • Works with manager to plan, develop, and oversee the credit union’s Business Development strategy.
  • Works with Branch Managers and staff in support of new Business Development initiatives.
  • Follows the latest industry developments and stays up to date on financial service competitors.
  • Investigates and resolves business member and community partner complaints, problems, or questions.
  • Maintains existing business relationships.
  • Processes business account documentation in accordance with regulatory and policy compliance.
  • Opens new member and business accounts.
  • Works with the Lending Department to assist with business and consumer loan applications, as well as with CBS (Cooperative Business Services) for business loans we have participations with and to pull monthly reports for Lending.
  • Conducts research of potential community partners.
  • Recommends new community partners.
  • Maintains key contact lists (new and potential community partners).
  • Maintains community partner database.
  • Assists in increasing penetration of existing community partners.
  • Monthly reporting of activities and results.
  • Serves as a liaison to the branches to coordinate credit union days and Ambassador visits.
  • Contacts community partners to set up direct deposit and ACH payroll deduction program, explains the benefits and features of switching to ACH if desired.
  • Provides updates and reports roadblocks to Manager.
  • May attend civic and business meetings in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
  • Recommends and supports marketing programs.
  • Serves as the liaison for Fiserv Merchant Services and works with the branches to refer business accounts via the merchant services portal.

 

Qualifications

  • Successfully complete all regulatory compliance courses (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, etc), product & service training.
  • Excellent writing skills and interpersonal skills in listening and oral communications.
  • Sales motivated to build business by advocating the credit union and attracting new partnerships/members.
  • Use of common computer software programs including MS Office and Outlook.
  • Speaks with poise and confidence.
  • Diplomatic – strong interpersonal skills.
  • Well-organized.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Teamwork - Contributes to building a positive team spirit.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Able to make professional presentations to all size groups of any age.

Education and Experience:                                          

  • Bachelors’ degree preferred.
  • Must have retail business operations experience.
  •  2 years’ experience in a finance-related direct customer service position.
  • Business related communication experience helpful.
  • Experience in a banking-related environment helpful.
