JOB SUMMARY:

The Financial Data Analyst is an integral member of the Finance and Accounting functions. The Financial Data Analyst works with subject matter experts and with the Data Management Office to ensure proper utilization of data via analysis, discovery, report preparation and investigation of potential data quality issues. The Financial Data Analyst will use skills in data analysis, data mapping, and investigation to deliver key information assets like reports, data integrations, data quality profiles, dashboards and design documents. The Financial Data Analyst will work on other data related projects as directed.

Experience with data warehouse environments is highly desirable. Experience with SQL databases and business requirements gathering and creation will be necessary for this position. The Financial Data Analyst will work closely with the Data Management Group which includes the Data Integration team, Business Intelligence, and Data Governance/Data Quality. The Financial Data Analyst will communicate effectively with other team members and management to deliver results in a timely fashion.

The successful candidate for this role will have 5 or more years working in a similar capacity with excellent communication skills and hands on expertise with data query tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adheres to Seacoast Bank’s code of conduct.
  • Work with management to prioritize data and information needs.
  • Working with subject matter experts to translate needs to business requirements.
  • Develop expertise in data structures, and data elements, Interpret data, analyze results.
  • Develop data mappings, data flows, and data lineage artifacts.
  • Identify and make recommendations as to acquisition of new sources of data.
  • Identify data quality issues and make recommendations to improve the overall quality of data.
  • Identify and define new process improvement opportunities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • BA/BS in Business, computer science, Information Management or related discipline
  • Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst
  • 5+ Years’ professional experience
  • Strong working knowledge writing queries in structured query language (SQL). Experience with other data manipulation and data preparation techniques and technologies
  • Experience with one or more of the major database platforms (Oracle, MS Sql Server, MySql)
  • Familiarity and working knowledge MS Office, Visio or other diagramming tools
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex ideas and findings
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good working knowledge of data mapping techniques and writing business requirements
  • Experience and exposure to project management concepts and tools
  • Required non-technical skills include: written communication, interpersonal skills working in an team environment, complex problem solving, results orientated, adaptability to change, self-motivated, able to see the big picture while delivering tangible results
