This position will coordinate, organize and oversee the purchasing functions from quote to receipt. In this role, you will maintain positive relationships with suppliers and distributors and lead a team responsible for purchasing, materials, and shipping/receiving. You will report to the VP of Operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure internal & external customer satisfaction by managing supplier on-time-delivery.
  • Foster scalable supply chain practices to support company growth.
  • Track measurement of cost, lead-time, and quality through process and communicate with team, suppliers, and management.
  • Identify optimal supplier partners (new and existing) to ensure alignment for cost reduction and strategic growth.
  • Monitor escalations and purchasing issues to ensure production support.
  • Make decisions on behalf of Ideal during project to ensure the highest value to the customer and Ideal.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness
  • Manage and optimize inventory levels, ensuring inventory accuracy to support production.
  • Qualify and audit new and existing suppliers in collaboration with current and developing technical needs.
  • Communicate with sales, engineering, program management, finance, and production on a regular basis.
  • Diligently manage using EOS tools in a consistent resilient manner
  • Leadership, Management and Accountability (LMA)
  • Gain clear understanding of Gov’t purchasing regulations, ensure implementation, training and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of Supply Chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Management and Supplier Relations.
  • Experience with Government purchasing regulations a plus.
  • BS degree in Business or Technical related filed.
  • Excellent planning, negotiation, problem solving, interpersonal and conflict management skills.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • US Citizen or Permanent resident.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
  • Rigorous attention to detail.
  • Must have ability to lead and manage team members.
  • Ability to converse with suppliers and internal team members on technical and quality issues.
