We’re seeking a passionate Solution Architect with experience in software and system architecture, with an emphasis on scalability and efficiency. This person will guide the modernization of a web-based application for DOD use in managing electromagnetic spectrum communication events.


Responsibilities:

  • Creates and maintains a systems/solutions architecture for an enterprise-wide web application that supports continued growth and modernization of electromagnetic spectrum usage events across multiple DOD organizations.
  • Creates specific technical design, product and vendor selection, application, and technical architectures.
  • Provides subject matter expertise on applicable technologies and platforms and leads the decision process to identify the best options.
  • Serves as the manager of complex technology implementations, with an eye toward constant reengineering and refactoring to ensure the simplest and most elegant system possible to accomplish the desired need.
  • Ensures strategic alignment of technical design and architecture to meet business growth and direction and stay on top of emerging technologies.
  • Develops product roadmaps, backlogs, and measurable success criteria and write user stories (i.e., can establish a path to delivery for breaking down stories).
  • Liberally shares knowledge across a multi-disciplinary team working within agile methodologies.
  • Partners in the determination of vision, objectives, and success criteria.
  • Oversees and guides the work of individual scrum teams as needed to ensure alignment with architectural vision. Can make tradeoff decisions to ensure timely completion of deliverables while still driving long-term adherence to architectural standards.
  • Reduces Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for data-centric solutions; FinOps and Hyper-Automation advocate.
  • Develops solutions on Agile framework and utilizes DevSecOps hyper-automation methodology
  • Garners consensus and buy-in across technical and non-technical team members and stakeholders for strategic technical program decisions.
  • Hands-on solution Architect, the final tier-SME for assigned responsible areas
  • Collaborates closely with program Principal Architect
  • Leads and communicates the program's technical strategy via discussions and briefings
  • Ensures program execution of technical milestones
  • Leads and manages individuals and teams, providing people management support through coaching/mentoring, 1:1 meetings, and fostering career growth.
Requirements:

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math, or other related scientific or technical discipline. With ten years of general information technology experience and at least four years of specialized experience, a degree is not required.
  • 10+ years' experience in software engineering, building scalable, customer-facing systems.
  • Extensive experience leading system architecture of complex web-based systems in the cloud.
  • Extensive experience in hands-on web and API development utilizing languages like Python and Javascript.
  • Experience collaborating with customers and stakeholders to present solutions to the user/stakeholder community and gain user adoption
  • Experience designing cost-optimized cloud-scalable solutions
  • Experience addressing architectural issues that impact scalability and performance for customer-facing systems.
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira/Confluence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Experience working in an agile or SAFe environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance; residing in the United States

Desired Qualifications:

  • Industry experience (Link-16 Spectrum) or direct experience with a government agency
  • AWS Solution Architect Certifications


Working Environment:

eSimplicity supports a remote work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by

Occasional travel for training and project meetings. It is estimated to be less than 25% per year.
