Description:
The Maintenance Technician’s performs work involving two or more maintenance skills to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or structure of an establishment in repair. Duties may involve welding, machine and equipment repairing, and electrical work. At all times observes and follow safety, SQF/Relevant Safety guidelines and policies.
Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of safety protocols and ensure compliance with all safety regulation
- Conduct routine Preventive Maintenance and inspection on manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot Mechanical, Electrical and Pneumatic issues with Extrusion Molding machinery.
- Ability to read electrical, mechanical and pneumatics
- Perform repairs and replacement of faulty components to keep machine operating efficiently.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Must be able to document work request and work orders for machines and equipment using computer maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Must be able to Utilize electrical measuring instruments to solve electrical issues.
- Possess the knowledge and understanding of Industrial electrical wiring and 3 phase
- Possess the knowledge and understanding of process
- Knowledgeable of A/C and D/C motors and controls
- Understands PLC process
- Maintains chiller
- Maintain plant air supply
- Record and maintain spare part usage
- Knowledgeable in operating machine shop equipment:
- Lathes
- Milling machines
- Surface Grinders
- Drill press
- Band saw
- Welding
Position Requirements:
Formal Education & Certification
- High School Diploma or GED Technical or vocational training in maintenance related fields is preferred
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
- Proficient in reading technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Experience with PLCs and other manufacturing control system is an advantage
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Possess problem solving skills and abilities to work well under pressure
Knowledge & Experience
- Knowledge of Extrusion Molding machines and its functions are preferred
- 5 years of industrial manufacturing experience
- Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
- Experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively handle pressure and challenges
- The capability to take proactive steps in managing problems
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry 75

Safety
- Possess the knowledge of lock out, tag out (LOTO)
- Safety is our utmost priority, and all employees are expected to follow safety guidelines and procedures
- Use the correct personal protected equipment (PPE) while performing maintenance tasks
- Participate in safety training programs and follow safe work practices at all times
- Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly by filling out safety catch forms and turn in to supervisor
- Shall acknowledge the Zip-Pak policy of requesting self-reporting of any illness, foodborne pathogens, or diseases which may be transmitted to food products and food contact surfaces that may jeopardize food
- Understands and practices all safety/hygiene and GMP rules
- Leads by example and ensures compliance to AIB and SQF rules
- Maintains clean and orderly workplace/equipment
- Shall support Food Safety Culture activities within the organization in support of Food Safety Management System in accordance with the Food Safety Code for Manufacture of Food Packaging.
