Opening in 1st quarter of 2025, Owensboro Racing & Gaming will be CDI’s newest state-of-the-art venue featuring 600 state-of-the-art historical racing machines (HRMs), a retail sportsbook, simulcast wagering and multiple food and beverage offerings.

We are actively seeking a Director of Marketing to stand-up, oversee, coordinate and participate in the development of marketing strategies for the organization to increase profitability among customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees the hiring, training, development and supervision of Marketing department staff
  • Plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments as well as trains, motivates and evaluates assigned staff
  • Establishes department standards, guidelines, and objectives, and maintains other administrative processes such as budget and staffing to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of assigned areas
  • Collects and analyzes target market data and trends to implement effective marketing approaches
  • Develops and executes marketing campaigns, advertising, and promotional activities to ensure the achievement of maximum profitability
  • Oversees the development and execution of special events to increase property visitation
  • Collaborates with executives and other departments to develop growth plans for the organization and maintain organizational standards
  • Coordinates with outside vendors and prepares contracts in the execution of promotions and campaigns
  • Identifies opportunities to strengthen customer relationships as well as new market segments to provide support for the organization’s operational strategies
  • Interacts directly with guests to develop relationships as well as strengthen the facility’s position as a strong corporate citizen and valuable community partner
  • Builds and implements the property Branding, Advertising, Promotional, Players Club, Player Development, and Public Relations strategies that effectively meet the property’s operational needs
  • Maintains knowledge of the organization’s current and emerging products and services to effectively promote them
  • Assists with the preparation of the departmental budget and operating forecasts while maintaining related records and files
  • Performs other duties as assigned 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and obtain results
  • Demonstrated ability to strategize and plan over a one-to-three-year period
  • Thorough knowledge of market developments, strategies, and practices
  • Strong public speaking/presentation and communication skills
  • Strong skills in Microsoft applications and other necessary computer applications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • Master’s degree or additional certifications preferred
  • Six to seven years of progressive experience in marketing
  • Gaming or hospitality knowledge preferred
  • Must obtain valid gaming license, where applicable

  • The employee may be exposed to smoke when on the floor of the gaming room.
