Position Overview: The Social Media Intern will work directly with the Social Media Director to support day-to-day tasks, such as engagement on the franchise channels, compiling reports, and building content calendars. This part-time position works approximately 15 hours per week and is open only to candidates residing in MI, IL, and CO. This is a perfect opportunity for someone passionate about the world of social media, and is considering making a career out of it *This is a remote position.


About Goldfish Swim School: Goldfish Swim School Franchising, LLC, is the leading learn-to-swim franchise with swim school facilities for kids ages 4 months to 12 years. Our proven confidence-building curriculum promotes a love of swimming and teaches children to be safer in and around the water.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Supports the Social Media Director with engagement on the franchise brand platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn) *as assigned
  • Joins brainstorming sessions for content creation and trend-watching on social platforms, such as Instagram and TikTok
  • Aids in content creation for content calendars and local content execution for the franchise brand
  • Supports the Social Media Director in the creation of weekly reports to Celebrate the schools success and top-performing content
  • Supports influencer communication *as assigned
  • Gathers user-generated content, local influencer content, and parent quotes to be used in published content
  • The scope of responsibilities may widen depending on projects and tasks taken on by the Social Media Director and the performance of the intern - there is room to grow
Desired Skills and Abilities:


  • Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Journalism, or Marketing
  • Proficiency and familiarity with all the major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube)
  • Ability to self-start and manage
  • Values clear communication. You know how to listen, put things into action, and ask questions when youre unsure
  • Always maintains professionalism in all interactions. You understand that any interactions you have on social media are a direct reflection of the Goldfish Swim School brand and community
  • Comfortable writing short-format, optimized for social media content
  • Comfortable understanding and taking on a brands voice and tone
  • Organized with an eye for detail and creative visuals
