JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead detail day to day financial and management accounting, reporting, planning, and analysis activities across the entire business.
  • Partner closely with leadership and supporting functions to achieve strategic financial objectives.
  • Maintain a stable internal control environment, ensuring adherence to US GAAP standards, compliance with FAR, DFAR, and DEAR Federal Regulations, and State and Local agency requirements
  • Provide actionable insights and work in developing annual financial plans/budgets to enhance organizational efficiency and lower operational costs.
  • Lead a team of finance and accounting professionals, fostering growth and talent development while implementing best practices.
  • Position reports to the CFO.
  • In conjunction with CFO, ensure financial investments and business commitments align with strategic objectives, generating adequate returns and mitigating risks.
  • Offer technical guidance on contractual and accounting matters, critical performance metrics, and ad-hoc business analysis.
  • Travel domestically up to 20% to work with key personnel in various offices/project locations on strategic initiatives
  • Other reasonable directives, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Education, Experience and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or a related field.
  • CPA with experience in public accounting preferred
  • 12+ years of relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of managerial experience.
  • Must receive a satisfactory pre-hire drug screen and background check.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong attention to details.
  • Thorough familiarity with general accounting principles and governmental regulations.
  • Understanding and application of FAR, DFAR, and DEAR
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint desired.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Experience in Federal approved Fringe, Overhead, and General and Administrative Pool Structures
  • Budgeting experience
  • Ability to follow a problem through the resolution in a timely manner.
  • Critical thinking skills to evaluate and conclude on complex policy compliance issues.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply management and supervisory skills.
  • Sound leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent communications skills to work effectively with senior level management.
