Our client is a well-established Design/Build General Contractor based in the Midwest region. With a focus on Commercial and industrial projects, this GC has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality results and has a steady backlog of work. Their commitment to employee success is unparalleled, and they are looking for a seasoned Senior Superintendent to help manage complex projects while mentoring younger employees.

Job Description

The key responsibilities of the Senior Superintendent are:

  • Site Safety and Risk Management
    • Actively manage and maintain a safe working environment on-site, including conducting regular safety inspections and enforcing compliance with all relevant regulations and corporate safety policies.
  • Project Coordination
    • On-site field supervision and coordination of project activities, including monitoring and enforcing quality workmanship and ensuring that all project milestones are met.
  • Subcontractor Management
    • Direct, coordinate, and facilitate meetings with subcontractors, owners, architects, and local authorities to ensure that all project requirements are met.
  • Logistics and Scheduling
    • Develop and maintain site logistics plans to maximize productivity and minimize impacts to building occupants.
  • Quality Control
    • Monitor and enforce quality workmanship, including conducting regular site inspections and ensuring that all project requirements are met.
  • Communication and Documentation
    • Develop and maintain on-site documentation, including project binders, shop drawings, construction drawings, and other relevant construction documentation.
  • Project Reporting
    • Complete detailed daily reports and maintain accurate records of project progress and activities.
Requirements

The successful Senior Superintendent will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of commercial/industrial construction experience.
  • A college degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Multiple project experiences in excess of $5 million.
  • Strong sitework background, computer, and scheduling skills required.
  • Utilize current technology, including tablets and construction-related applications.
  • Procore experience is a plus, but not required.
