Under the direction and guidance of the Director and Sr. Director, RCM, the Revenue Cycle Analyst maintains a library of reports used to monitor all billing and financial activity for existing and prospective NSPC-affiliate practices.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Maintain schedule of reports used by RCM team to monitor daily, weekly, monthly, and annual financial activity, workflows, staffing allocations, and RCM functions.
  • Improve revenue cycle production and efficiency by reviewing and analyzing reports and workflow processes and recommending changes that will positively impact the revenue cycle and help the company operate according to industry benchmarks and meet A/R performance goals and productivity.
  • Analyze payment and charge discrepancies to determine issues, area of responsibility and assist in the development of corrective action plans.
  • Act as a liaison with operations, compliance, and legal on RCM-related reporting requests.
  • Responsibilities include all aspects of the revenue cycle system support including performance management, development, documentation, testing, training and upgrades.
  • Assists management in examining processes to improve workflow.
  • If automated report distribution is implemented, this role will maintain the list of staff
  • Adhere to and uphold all applicable federal and state compliance regulations as well as NSPC’s Code of Conduct and Employee Handbook, compliance policies and procedures, and applicable healthcare fraud, waste and abuse laws
  • Assist in Software/EDI/Process implementation as needed for M&A activity.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and possess the knowledge, skills and abilities represented below:


Educations/Experience/Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required with 3+ years RCM experience.
  • A minimum of three years of revenue cycle, patient accounting, or similar experience.
  • General experience with medical billing, the process of claims billing, payment posting, charge entry, and financial analysis.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of RCM/Claim filing and transactional functions.
  • Knowledge of financial metrics used in revenue cycle regarding charges, payments, adjustments, denials, agings, and waterfall analyses.

Communication/Interpersonal Skills:

  • Ability to analyze data quickly and effectively to resolve problems via the highest customer service skills and etiquette.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.

Mathematical/Reasoning Abilities:

  • Ability to visualize data in various summary formats; tables, graphs, charts
  • Aptitude to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule format.

Computer/Technical Skills:

  • Superior proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Access experience will be helpful
  • This role involves extensive and in depth use of Excel and the successful candidate will have an above average aptitude for Microsoft Excel.
