Hawkers Shift Leaders play both a Leadership and Operational assistance role in our restaurants. This role supervises team members and oversees guest service, and any all operational function as needed.
The Shift Leader understands the processes of opening and closing the store. They are able to follow all policies and procedures while also coaching and motivating the team.
Shift leaders must be on a Leadership development track and will be actively planning to grow into a leadership role.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise team members to complete tasks and achieve goals in the absence of store management.
- Proficient at Prep and adheres to all guidelines.
- Ensures kitchen has all needed supplies for openings.
- Understands and supports leadership with executing inventory practices and procedures.
- Supports staff on Ecosure standards. Ecosure Master.
- Manage BOH standards by coaching team members, monitor productivity, and addressing guest concerns.
- Lead Pre-Shift meetings and ensure team self-check-ins are done.
- Manages BOH Training Team: Scheduling, Breaks, etc.
- Understands labor decisions such as making cuts or calling in support to meet the needs of the business.
- Open and close the restaurant following proper procedures documented in the opening and closing checklist.
- Execute POS Supervisor responsibilities such as discounts, comps and clocking procedures.
- Monitor all health and safety standards by checking the walk-in coolers, all BOH labeling and Expo stations daily.
- Remain current on all company policies and ensures that all policies, standards, and procedures are maintained and followed in a consistent manner.
- Understands FIFO process, Dish Machine maintenance and safety management.
- Be a team player, supporting team members at every opportunity; lead by example.
- Stay current and up to date on all restaurant systems.
- Other duties may be assigned as the need arises.
- Must have or be willing to obtain Food Handlers Certification and understand and follow OSHA and HACCP compliance standards.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Requirements:
- Understand our concept, culture and food. Subject Matter Expert.
- Development Path: Serve as in-store Trainer and NRO Trainer, and/or display growth potential for a leadership role.
- Proficient in all Hawkers processes.
- Have no disciplinary actions for the last 6 months (internal candidates).
- Cross-trained in all positions.
- Passed all tests with a 90% or higher.
- Can give written and spoken direction in English.
- Proficient with computer programs such as Word, Excel, etc.
Experience:
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated competency in current role.
- Proven ability to motivate and lead diverse teams.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards.
- Solid communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Scheduling flexibility is required.
