Job DescriptionJob Description

We are hiring a CNC operator to be a part of the glass production team at Quality Glass and Mirror Service. We are a high growth, market leader in glass fabrication and installation in the greater Omaha Area. As a member of our production team at Quality Glass, you will support the manufacture of specialized glass products for our customers. Quality fabricates industry-leading glass products for interior and exterior applications for a variety of projects across commercial, residential, education customers. This role requires a desire to learn, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering outstanding results – our name is our reputation, and we take Quality seriously.

In this role you will:

  • Set up and operate a CNC machine (Forvet) to drill holes and cutouts in glass panels based on production orders, drawings and schedules
  • Load glass onto the CNC machine by hand and in the correct position for fabrication
  • Verify CNC program accuracy and run programs to ensure fabrication is completed correctly
  • Inspect glass for fabrication quality and measure glass to ensure it meets drawing specifications
  • Complete routine maintenance and cleaning on the CNC machine to ensure it is in good working condition
  • Be willing to operate other machinery, including glass polishing machines, as needed
  • Handle glass with care, ensuring proper safety measures are followed during all steps of fabrication
  • Transport glass to the CNC machine and on to the next stage in the fabrication process
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, properly maintaining and storing all tools and equipment are.

Background and Experience Required:

  • Capable of performing calculations and measurements with fractions, numbers and decimals
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot glass-related issues
  • Physical stamina and the ability to consistently lift 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, perform a variety of physical movements throughout a work shift, and work in varying temperatures

Preferred experience:

  • CNC machining experience
  • Drafting and/or AutoCAD experience
  • Knowledge of different types of glass, including tempered, laminated, insulated, and decorative glass.
