New York City Area (Hybrid)Salary: $150,000 to $200,000 per year, with potential flexibility based on experienceTerrific Senior Director of Major Gifts position with a highly regarded medical school and hospital in New York City. The Senior Director of Major Gifts will be a strategic and hands-on fundraising role that will guide a team of fundraisers to ensure that goals are met. The Senior Director will manage the full lifecycle of fundraising for a donor portfolio, with a focus on those capable of giving at the $100k+ level. This position will also collaborate closely with colleagues on the creation and expansion of various fundraising programs, including grateful patient and alumni programs. The role will manage and mentor a team of four development professionals. Candidates should have excellent relationship building skills and experience securing large major gifts. Qualified candidates should have approximately 8+ years of related development experience in a similar setting. Bachelor's degree is required. The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000 per year, with potential flexibility based on experience. This position is based in New York City and operates on a hybrid schedule.Responsibilities:
  • Provide moves management to a portfolio of major gifts donors (focus on $100k+)
  • Develop and implement a major gifts strategy
  • Provide assistance in the development and expansion of a grateful patient program
  • Create effective cultivation and solicitation strategies
  • Manage strong relationships with potential major donors
  • Collaborate throughout the organization to identify high-capacity donors
  • Manage and mentor a team of four development professionals
Qualifications:
  • Approximately 8+ years of relevant development experience, preferably in healthcare or academic medicine
  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Demonstrated track record of closing 6+ figure gifts
  • Excellent relationship building skills and a strong understanding of moves management
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge or similar database
  • Experience building a donor portfolio is a plus
