Frank Liquor Company in Middleton, WI is now hiring for a Director, Sales- Wine Representative. The Director, Wine Sales is responsible for the leadership and supervision of a sales division and the accomplishment of forecasted sales goals and objectives. Works directly with sales managers, representatives and retailers to grow sales, and expand product placement in on or off-premise channels in assigned territories.


Responsibilities:
  • Achieves assigned goals (distribution / volume) in respective selling area
  • Achieves sales, revenue and strategic objectives for the business unit
  • Review monthly on and off-premise division priorities to identify opportunities, underperforming accounts or potential loss of distribution within an account
  • Works with Sales Managers to develop key account relationships, building brand presence and sales in on/off premise division.
  • Makes field sales calls on key top customer accounts to ensure close-working relationships with managers and buyers
  • Secures and expands distribution in assigned trade channel by setting benchmarks and calling on accounts both independently and with sales representatives
  • Coaches, trains and motivates sales managers to achieve monthly priorities, quarterly volume goals, and distribution and feature/promotion goals.
  • Collaborates with brand managers to create local brand
  • Executes brand marketing plans
  • Conduct sales meetings to review sales and marketing programs, product presentations and company policies and procedures
  • Provides consistent and regular communication to sales division and teams
  • Works with supplier representatives and assists in meeting supplier goals
  • Interacts with our key suppliers regarding sales incentives, distribution goals and sales standards
  • Maintains knowledge of product portfolio and promotions
  • Provides input and manages expenses to budget
  • Provide on-the-job training in selling skills, product rotation, merchandising, customer service, personal appearance, and other common affiliated skills
  • Works with area sales managers on a regular basis to evaluate sales presentations and overall job performance
  • Develops and participates in special events and promotions targeted toward various market
  • Follows up on all customer complaints to ensure problems are solved and to prevent
  • Complete all internal control records, forms, and reports properly and
  • Continually monitor Area Sales Managers in the area of sales, stock rotation, product facing, code date/vintage, pricing, POS placement, display activity, cold and shelf position, customer service and other assigned responsibilities
  • Establishes monthly goals for Area Sales Managers specifying distribution, sales volume, displays, and merchandising
  • Implement incentive contests in close coordination with Brand Managers
  • Reports all competitive activities to management immediately
  • Carries out any special projects assigned by management
  • Conducts periodic locally - directed marketing audits
  • Maintains professional and industry knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing industry and professional publications; establishing personal networks and participating in industry events.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for sales process Works closely with sales managers to inspect sales process quality and prioritize opportunities for improvement. Assists sales managers in understanding process bottlenecks and inconsistencies. Facilitates an organization of continuous process improvement.
  • Directs and supports the consistent implementation of company initiatives
  • Manage program budgets
  • Assists Chain Manager with headquarter accounts
  • Check chain stores following a features advertisement to ensure displays and appropriate POS are properly positioned
  • Ensure new and no-buying accounts are called on to solidify package
  • Oversees and participates in shelf resets
  • Sells, merchandises, and builds displays
  • Prepare and present staff trainings in key accounts
  • Sell, budget, and coordinate the execution of special events in the designated area
  • Attend on premise events as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field or equivalent experience is required
  • A minimum of 5 years of sales experience is required
  • Experience in the beverage distribution business is required
  • A minimum of 2 years of management or supervisory experience is required
  • Sales Experience is required
  • Understanding of shelf management preferred
  • Experience conducting product trainings is required

Skills and Abilities:

  • In depth knowledge of wine is required including styles, tasting, and production
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and lead teams of people
  • Ability to coach, train, motivate, influence
  • Analytical skills and strategic vision
  • Strong collaborations skills, demonstrated ability to balance the competing needs of various stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Driven for results and able to handle complexity and change on the go
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Route Accounting Software programs
  • Results driven, energetic and proactive
  • Polished presentation skills
  • Ability to make decisions timely with appropriate amount of information available
  • Negotiation Skills
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent Verbal and written communication skills Other:
  • A valid driver's license, reliable transportation and proof of insurance is required
  • Ability to acquire and maintain necessary liquor sales persons permit
  • Ability to acquire and maintain any other permits, licenses, etc... that may be required by the Company
  • May need to work evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 40 pounds on a regular basis and up to 160 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Ability to crouch reach and grasp
  • Ability to sit in car for extended periods
