Job DescriptionJob Description

The Library is seeking a Fundraising Coordinator. The Fundraising Coordinator leads system fundraising initiatives to meet strategic goals. Plans, coordinates, and implements The Library's system-wide fundraising and donor related special events. Coordinates donor solicitation, tracking, and recognition, maintaining an accurate donor database. Maintains confidentiality of administrative matters. Coordinates direct mail solicitation, and all donor tracking and recognition. Focus areas include annual giving, grants management, prospect research, and donor stewardship.

Education/Training: Associates Degree in Communication, Public Relations or related field, or three years of donor relations experience.

Experience: Demonstrated written communication skills. Experience negotiating and in planning and implementing public events and programs. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, spreadsheet applications and database software. Experience working with donors and donor-related correspondence preferred.

Required: Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Independent transportation for travel to libraries, programs, and outreach locations. Ability to lift 35 lbs. unassisted, to place materials on high and low shelves.

Essential Functions:

  1. Produces The Library’s development plan and assists with development of its marketing plan in support of strategic goals.
  2. Works with grant writing team to research and identify grant opportunities in support of system strategic goals.
  3. Prepares applications for submission and, once grants are awarded, follows up with all required contracts and subsequent reporting
  4. Evaluates and audits workflow and quality in the department, adjusting procedures and policies as necessary to maintain speed and quality of development and database functions.
  5. Implements strategies to encourage new and increased contributions.
  6. Produces quality content for fundraising and advocacy messaging and assists with development of marketing materials and messages.
  7. Coordinates all aspects of fundraising events in conjunction with committees, and staff including but not limited to assisting with the development of marketing materials and implementing plans to promote events.
  8. Prepare donor acknowledgments for all incoming contributions. Maintain current database for use in solicitations and reporting. Analyze the organization’s database for both cost-effectiveness and practical usage to advance our goals.
  9. Develops, implements, and manages the systems of internal prospect identification, profile building, cultivation, and solicitation strategies, and assisting with moves management pipeline. Researches and identifies prospective individual, corporate, and foundation donors consistent with organizational priorities and objectives.
  10. Supervises seasonal clerical staff for data inputting.
  11. Prepares monthly narrative and statistical reports.
  12. Attends staff meetings and continuing education workshops. Participates in system committees.
