The position involves the planning and overseeing of new development projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget while keeping company executives informed at all times. This position manages the development process from start to finish

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Plan and coordinate project development activities relating to assigned projects
  • Create and manage project plan schedules for production-submission-approvals
  • Analyze and resolve project issues in timely and accurate manner
  • Prepare project proposals and develop project plan, schedules and budgets
  • Read, interpret and convey building codes, zoning and ordinances
  • Coordinate development site analysis and recommendations for prospective properties
  • Represent the company in municipal meetings
  • Collaborate with internal Planning & Design team
  • Coordinate due diligence work with third party vendors, i.e., ordering Alta/Geo/Phase1 etc.
  • Coordinate with legal in the execution of due diligence tasks and the execution of project plans.
  • Coordinate civil, architectural, structural, MEP engineering. Lead coordination of civil and landscape
  • Supervise design team to ensure assigned projects meet deadlines and budgets
  • Coordinate plans between design team(s) and municipal authorities and clients
  • Competently read and understand civil and building plans
  • Manage contracts and bids with vendors and suppliers
  • Build -- budgets and proformas for various types of projects
  • Update and keep track of schedules
  • Track project costs to ensure budgetary compliance
  • Liaise with contractor(s) on questions for various jobs
  • Effectively communicate and convey with leadership on project updates, potential risks, technical challenges and recommend appropriate mitigation plans
  • Any and all other duties assigned by supervisor within the scope of employee’s ability

Education & Experience:

  • BS in Real Estate Project Management; Construction Management; Engineering; Architecture; or equivalent.
  • Experience with the ground up development preferred
  • Knowledge of basic building design and systems
  • Demonstrated experience in reading construction documents and specification manuals.
  • Minimum 7 years Project Management, project planning, oversight, and delivery experience.
  • Collaboration: Develops, maintain, and strengthens collaborative relationships inside and outside the organization.
  • Communication: Listens actively and expresses self clearly in conversations and interactions with others; expresses self clearly in business writing to effectively reach the audience.
  • Results Orientation: Prioritizes projects to meet required deadlines. Carefully manages several projects at once, focusing on the desired end result of one’s work.
  • Flexibility: Open to different and new ways of doing things; willing to modify one’s preferred way of doing things
  • Adaptability: Adaptable to the changing nature of the business.
