Job Description
Gammage & Burnham, a well-established Arizona law firm, has an excellent opportunity for a Litigation Legal Assistant, with at least three years' experience, to demonstrate their litigation, technical and administrative skills. The selected candidate will work with our commercial litigation group by maintaining and processing case information, managing the progression of cases to final disposition, creating electronic files, preparing and processing correspondence, memoranda, and complex legal documents, and filing in the appellate court.
We are looking for a dynamic, motivated individual who likes collaborating and working with a team. The right candidate should have a strong background in litigation and proficiency in electronic file management, knowledge of Arizona and federal law, and ability to e-file in a variety of states. Primary Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist with editing and proofreading correspondence, pleadings, and other complex documents in draft and in final form.
- Managing electronic files.
- Docketing/Calendaring appointments, hearings, and deadlines.
- Research Various state rules.
- Document preparation and management.
- Case management.
- Coordination of e-filing of documents.
- Time entry and billing using billing software.
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Appellate Court filing and procedures.
- Advanced working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Preferred experience with Big Hand.
- Ability to develop, implement, and maintain systems to promote organization and efficiency.
- Ability to apply and/or communicate knowledge of client-specific billing guidelines and restrictions.
- Ability to adapt to fluctuations in workload and changes in responsibilities.
- Working knowledge of court e-filing requirements (e.g., Pacer, ECF).
- Demonstrates strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Punctual and dependable.
