WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

The Discipline Lead I role acts as an entry-level position in project management. In this role, a DL I actively participates in the project design and production phases, gradually acquiring experience in project and client management under the guidance of a DL 2, SR DL, and EM. Your primary responsibilities include ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of assigned project tasks. Additionally, a DL I starts to take on some staff management responsibilities, which involve assisting the DL 2 in overseeing technical staff and managing resource scheduling. You will also contribute to proposal preparation and billing processes.

Once selected to join our team, you will:

  • Assist with the execution of project tasks such as permitting and entitlement processes
  • Ensure project tasks remain accurate and on schedule
  • Assist with the project financial processes
  • Assisting in preparation of proposals
  • Limited client interaction
  • Assisting with overseeing the technical staff
  • Assist with resource scheduling for technical staff on your team
  • Other duties as assigned

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Civil 3D, Microstation, or discipline specific softwares
  • Proficient in Dunaway CAD standards
  • Proficient in Dunaway design standards

SKILLS:

  • In-depth technical knowledge of line of business
  • Basic understanding of project financial and performance metrics
  • Ability to manage multiple project tasks at a time
  • Excellent decision-making skills
  • Ability to recognize what your limitations are
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 total years of experience
  • Generally 5 or more years of civil design experience
  • Generally 1 or more year of experience as a P.E. or 8 years of relevant civil design experience without a degree
  • 0-2 years project management experience required
  • 0-2 years client interaction experience required
  • 0-2 years of experience in oversight of technical staff

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or 8 years of relevant civil design experience without a degree
