Medical Records Technician

This is a remote position.
Seeking a Medical Records Technician to support functions within the Medical Review Accuracy Contract (MRAC), providing assistance to the Project Coordinator to ensure claims data and medical records are uploaded to the RELIability medical review system. This position may be performed in a remote/telecommuting environment, at times. The amount of time spent working remotely will be determined by the contract needs. At times, daily work in the office environment may be necessary. M-F day part-time around 20 hours.
Essential Functions
· Prepare spreadsheets in preparation of upload to RELIability or for manual medical record review by the medical review team.
· Maintain security and confidentiality of medical records and Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
· Log and securely maintain all documents and material received from the Medical Review Contractors.
· Report problems to the Project Coordinator, Medical Review Manager (MRM) and Project Manager (PM) regarding unique record or process issues.
· Accurately retrieve data from internal and external systems for claim data and medical records due to internal and external stakeholders as required.
· Collaborate with the Project Manager and other Key Personnel to track and analyze medical record and claim data processes; and identify related risks and mitigation strategies.
· Draft internal reports and documents, as requested by the Project Manager, Medical Review Manager, Project Coordinator and/or the Project Director.
· Follow all established processes and procedures.
· Consistently meet attendance standards established by the Company and follows the telecommuting policy.
· Interact appropriately with peers, co-workers, other Contractors, the customer, and all stakeholders when necessary. Contribute to building a positive team spirit.
· Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience
· Strong communication and customer service skills.
· Familiarity with medical record reviews is preferred.
· Experience in, and knowledge of medical records processes.
· Experience in data entry or medical claim information is preferred.
· Experience handling and securing Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in a healthcare or medical review environment is required.
· Experience with Service Now environment would be beneficial.
· A minimum of one (1) year working in a government medical review contract preferred.
Skills & Abilities
· Strong communication, and customer service skills.
· Detail oriented with ability to review and produce error free reports and deliverables.
· Maintain a focused awareness of project status and risks.
· Solid organizational and time management skills.
· Capable of consistency, speed, and accuracy of task.
· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
· Proficiency in other Microsoft Office Suite products, such as Outlook and Word.
· Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all levels of the organization, both written and verbal.
· Ability to work well in a remote team environment, to collaborate with others, and interface with team members internal and external to the organization.
· Establishes and maintains effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
· Must be able to adapt to organizational change.
· Flexibility and ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity.
