ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST (SFC)

MADISON, WI

We are looking for a responsible and talented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our company. The Account Payables Specialist position is ideal for those who enjoy working in a busy environment with a variety of people and vendors.

A successful Accounts Payable Specialist will have a mix of organizational and analytical skills. They should be able to work out numbers, generate reports, and find discrepancies as well as cost-saving opportunities.

Duties:

  • Accounts payable entry, including vendor invoices, employee expense reports and other payment requests
  • Processing company checks, credit card and ACH payments
  • Resolves invoice discrepancies with other staff and vendors
  • Maintains and posts recurring accounts payable monthly
  • Completes vendor document maintenance and corresponds with vendors
  • Organizes and files documents, both electronically and paper
  • Completes cross training within the accounting department
  • Backup person for answering telephone calls and direct to the appropriate person
  • Additional duties may be assigned temporarily and periodically

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and Associates Degree in accounting or related filed required.
  • Prefer 3 to 4 years of bookkeeping, accounting or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Floor Coverings or construction related experience preferred.
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate numerical data.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.
  • Knowledge of proprietary software systems, including general ledger and accounts payable.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office including Outlook and Excel.
  • Proficiency with email communication.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant computer programs; proficiency in data entry and management
