Responsibilities of the Medical Billing Coordinator:

  • Follow up on unpaid claims within the standard billing cycle timeframe.
  • Resolve billing issues and denials with insurance carriers.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Requirements of the Medical Billing Coordinator:
  • Proven experience as a Medical Billing Specialist or similar role.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding.
  • Familiarity with insurance guidelines and healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in using medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certified Professional Biller (CPB) credential preferred but not required.
