DevOps Engineer II, DevOps Engineering

Location: Auburn, NH

Level: Experienced/Non-Manager

Position Overview:

C Squared Systems is currently seeking a DevOps Engineer II to join our team. The successful candidate will be required to work closely with the DevOps Engineering and Support teams to support a combination of release engineering, support escalation resolution, infrastructure provisioning and management, system administration, security, and DevOps advocacy. This candidate will be expected to work closely with internal teams to handle requests made and assigned to the DevOps team; this may include taking escalated customer issues, deploying software updates, building, and maintaining automation for new products and/or the configurations of such, resolving bugs, testing new implementations, troubleshooting issues and more.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Triage and resolve escalated requests that overlap software, hardware and networking
  • Develop tools and processes in support of software release cycles
  • Maintain and contribute to further advancement of automation code base
  • Perform software updates on company and customer servers and equipment
  • Perform server monitoring and review of system logs following software updates
  • Perform security updates across multiple networks on a regular cadence
  • Test implemented automation tools along with new automation frameworks
  • Collaborate with various teams on the implementation, usage and improvement of DevOps practices used within the company

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience with Linux command line and Linux server administration
  • 3+ years of experience with MySQL
  • 3+ years of experience with PHP
  • 3+ years of experience with Git or other source control
  • 3+ years of experience with networking concepts (CCNA a plus)
  • Strong analysis, investigation, and problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Have strong understanding of software workflow methodologies
  • Understanding of bug tracking and project management tools/software
  • Experience in configuration management using Ansible
  • Knowledge of various protocols (TCP/IP, SNMP, SCP, SSH, HTTPS)
  • Flexibility and stress tolerance are key in this role
  • On-Call rotation and infrequent travel dependent on permanent role within the team
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience
