Dual Director of Sales


Must be able to prospect for new clients, make cold calls, conduct site tours, write and negotiate contracts. They must be motivational to inspire the Sales Team to do the same.


  • Must be willing to have involvement in local tourism associations
  • Expectation to dedicate significant portion of time to participation and training of all aspects of direct solicitation sales
  • Be a lead generator to property to support the sales process and development of new business opportunities.
  • Assist hotel in meeting or exceeding assigned revenue goals, primarily, but not limited to: Rooms, F&B, Meeting Room, Incremental and RevPAR Index.
  • Actively participate in budgeting, forecasting and managing expenses to achieve company expectations.
  • Performs Sales Audits to ensure information accuracy in property management systems, sales & catering software systems & general reporting.
  • Trains Sales Managers on all key components of direct sales process to solicit existing and new clients, foster additional business, and repeat bookings.
  • Provides Sales Managers with the skills training to provide value added service to customers with the purpose to enhance revenues.
  • Participates in yield management meetings, as necessary
  • Leads daily stand up meetings, weekly sales meetings and participates in all hotel related meetings as directed by General Manager.
  • Develops plans, special sales activities, and promotions, monitors Return on Investment of all sales and marketing action plans and promotions.
  • Ensures that property has maximized use of all company, brand and local CVB programs.
  • Conducts market analysis to determine client needs, occupancy potential, rates desired, etc. for hotel.

Job Description


  • 5+ years of hotel sales experience required
  • Downtown Chicago Sales experience is preferred
  • Hilton Brand experience preferred
  • Must possess communications skills in terms of the ability to negotiate, convince, sell and influence professionals and hotel guests
  • Advanced knowledge of sales/hospitality principles and practices.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze current activities or information in the sales/marketing field and make logical conclusions and recommendations
  • Ability to make decisions based on established policies and procedures.
  • Experience selling multiple market segments
  • Documented experience in negotiating and closing business with short turn-around times required.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills required
  • Must be able to work a somewhat flexible schedule
  • Knowledge of the local market
