PARKS LABORER

$17.23/Hour - 40 hrs./Week through October 31st.

On-call/Variable hours through the Fall and Winter seasons.

Come join our parks maintenance division and be part of the team that maintains Tooele City properties, recreational facilities and plays an important role in the logistics for our events and activities.

As a Parks Laborer, you will work alongside experienced maintenance workers who will help you gain practical experience in the field and teach you about the role you will play in keeping our facilities clean, safe, and beautiful.

Your summer work duties will vary from general clean-up, grounds maintenance, facilities upkeep, special event set-up, sprinkler repair, watering, and just about anything else that comes our way. While your fall/winter duties will range from snow removal, trash cleanup and setting up/taking down Christmas decorations.

This job is physical in nature and primarily outdoor work. To beat the heat during summer, work hours are generally set from Monday to Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. In the fall, the hours may shift to 7:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. After October 31st, the schedule will transition to on-call, variable hours for the late-fall/winter seasons.

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be at least 17 years old by August 26th;
  • Have had one year of driving experience by August 26th;
  • Possess a valid driver license and that you've had it for at least 12 months for our insurance purposes (learner's permit time doesn't count).
  • Be able to work the varying schedules;
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for the work and team work;
  • Demonstrate familiarity with basic hand tools and landscape equipment;
  • Be able to work in the outdoor environment; and,
  • Be able to perform the physical duties of the position.
