Parks Laborer Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and physically fit individual to join our parks maintenance division as a Parks Laborer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and beauty of Tooele City properties and recreational facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general clean-up and grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing, pruning, and weeding.
  • Assist with facilities upkeep, including repairs and maintenance of equipment and buildings.
  • Participate in special event setup and teardown, including decorating and cleaning.
  • Operate and maintain landscape equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
  • Remove snow and ice from sidewalks and parking lots during winter months.
  • Assist with trash cleanup and disposal.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements:

  • Be at least 17 years old.
  • Have had one year of driving experience.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have had it for at least 12 months.
  • Be able to work varying schedules, including on-call and variable hours.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for the work and teamwork.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with basic hand tools and landscape equipment.
  • Be able to work in the outdoor environment.
  • Be able to perform the physical duties of the position.

Working Conditions: This is a physically demanding job that requires working in a fast-paced outdoor environment. You will be exposed to various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and precipitation. You will also be required to work at heights and in confined spaces.
