Summary of Position:

This is a high-growth position that will play a critical role in tax and internal audit area for a global company.


The role will report to VP Controller and will work closely with all internal departments and external tax consulting firms. It is a North American role and a hybrid position based in Carlsbad office, California, where there is a good accounting and tax team in place to work with.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Tax:

  • Manage all tax projects handled by internal Sr. Tax Accountant and external tax consulting firms, such as sales and use tax / property tax / income tax / international tax etc.
  • Bring in-house tax returns / tax provisions / transfer pricing documentation updates and other tax projects to the extent possible.
  • Manage the global tax restructure to maximize tax benefits and minimize risks.
  • Work with Sr. Tax Accountant and external tax firms to meet all deadlines of tax return filings.
  • Safeguard the Company from tax audits and penalties.
  • Research and provide consultation for international finance teams regarding taxes in their countries.

Internal Audit:

  • Work with Internal Control Manager to identify and resolve issues in all processes with relevant departments to improve the internal efficiency and operation.
  • Make business recommendations to each department to improve their processes.
  • Work with ERP team closely to complete Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation globally to utilize all the functions within the system completely.
  • Coordinated with the rest of Finance team to improve finance & accounting processes as needed to ensure data accuracy and meeting with all deadlines.

 

 

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance / accounting area with a CPA and prior Public Accounting experience required.
  • Experience in Tax and Internal Audit on a global basis
  • Extensive management experience and ability and desire to get actively involved and roll up your sleeves to get the work done
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Exposure to global entities and global teams, including international tax and global internal process improvement.
  • Ability to execute and follow-through to produce complete, accurate and timely deliverables
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are required
  • Must be able to work independently, think critically and make continual efforts to push through positive changes in processes.
  • Must also be proactive and flexible in an environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
