Position Overview

The ideal candidate for the role of Construction Cost Estimator will possess a comprehensive understanding of construction techniques and be adept at collaborating with various vendors and subcontractors to secure optimal preconstruction pricing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough reviews of project scopes to ensure accurate and timely budget estimates.
  • Support ongoing project operations while adhering to regulatory and corporate standards.
  • Engage closely with architects and engineers throughout the design phases to identify cost-effective solutions.
  • Critically analyze project documents to propose cost-saving alternatives.
  • Prepare detailed bids and cost estimates encompassing all project aspects.
  • Perform site visits as necessary to gather information and assess project scope.
  • Collaborate with owner representatives to align project goals during the contracting phase.
  • Estimate necessary resources, including equipment and materials, to complete projects efficiently.
  • Assist project managers in sequencing construction activities and establishing job priorities.
  • Facilitate project cost estimate review meetings and interface with management.
  • Lead estimating efforts with minimal supervision.
  • Evaluate site availability for essential services.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in estimating or project management within multifamily residential construction.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations.
  • Experience with various construction methods and materials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Ability to negotiate and execute subcontract agreements.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying work schedules based on project needs.
  • Capability to perform physical tasks associated with the role.
