Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
• Experience in a Special Education classroom setting
• Valid Colorado state certification in Special Education

Responsibilities:
• Assist students in classroom activities.
• Implement and modify students’ instructional plans.
• Collect data and maintain records accurately for tracking and recording student progress on behavior support plan goals.
• Act as a crisis intervention person, using district approved procedures, during times when the student is experiencing severe problems.
• Model for school staff the use of replacement strategies/redirection and utilization of self- monitoring systems when implementing behavior supports for students.
• Prepare and organize materials for instructional purposes, specifically related to positive student behavior and learning.
• Communicate appropriately with individuals including families, students, and Special Education staff.
• Refer concerns expressed by families, students or others to appropriate staff.
• Attend to student medical needs as delegated by the Health Care Action Plan.
• Attend appropriate in services, building meetings, training, and/or school functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
