Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Experience in a Special Education classroom setting
- Valid Colorado state certification in Special Education
Responsibilities:
- Assist students in classroom activities.
- Implement and modify students’ instructional plans.
- Collect data and maintain records accurately for tracking and recording student progress on behavior support plan goals.
- Act as a crisis intervention person, using district approved procedures, during times when the student is experiencing severe problems.
- Model for school staff the use of replacement strategies/redirection and utilization of self- monitoring systems when implementing behavior supports for students.
- Prepare and organize materials for instructional purposes, specifically related to positive student behavior and learning.
- Communicate appropriately with individuals including families, students, and Special Education staff.
- Refer concerns expressed by families, students or others to appropriate staff.
- Attend to student medical needs as delegated by the Health Care Action Plan.
- Attend appropriate in services, building meetings, training, and/or school functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
