Job Summary:
Adelphi Medical Staffing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will work with students who have a wide range of learning, cognitive, emotional, and physical disabilities in schools across diverse locations in Colorado.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students in classroom activities and implement and modify students' instructional plans to meet their individual needs.
- Collect data and maintain accurate records for tracking and recording student progress on behavior support plan goals.
- Act as a crisis intervention person using district-approved procedures during times when the student is experiencing severe problems.
- Model for school staff the use of replacement strategies and redirection, as well as the utilization of self-monitoring systems when implementing behavior supports for students.
- Prepare and organize materials for instructional purposes specifically related to positive student behavior and learning.
- Communicate effectively with individuals, including families, students, and Special Education staff.
- Refer concerns expressed by families, students, or others to appropriate staff.
- Attend to student medical needs as delegated by the Health Care Action Plan.
- Attend appropriate in-services, building meetings, training, and/or school functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Experience in a Special Education classroom setting.
- Valid Colorado state certification in Special Education.
