Description:HIM Support Assistant will address missing documentation follow up to accelerate coding and billing, reduce chart analysis backlogs, improve potential duplicate merging for patient safety, and improve workflows to meet HIM operations standards.

The HIM Support Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of Health Information Management functions including but not limited to, liaison roles, record retrieval and processing, identity management and reporting, data integrity, deficiency analysis, tracking and reporting, and performing quality audits. The HIM Support Assistant will also ensure privacy & confidentiality of protected health information and effectively communicate with patients and providers.

Minimum Education:

Required: High School Diploma plus training acquired via work experience or secondary education

Preferred: Associate degree

Licensure/Certifications:

Preferred:

Registered Health Information Administrator (AHIMA) or

Registered Health Information Technician (AHIMA)
