This is an exciting opportunity for a motivate technical leader that excels in a highly collaborative new product development team in a fast growing building services department.  This role will be responsible leading the development of new service product offerings for use throughout North America.  There will be a heavy emphasis on working through the new product development (NPD) process and meeting or exceeding deadlines as set during strategic planning.  This team leader will be responsible for implementing the team strategy as it relates to new product launches, innovating for new technologies, sustaining current products, and improving current processes to ensure a strong pipeline of product releases.  We are looking for a highly effective team player that is able to develop and sustain an extraordinary level of team commitment and employee engagement.  This position will require strong relationship with the product support and product management team.  In this leadership role, strong communication skills will play a vital role in being able to articulate and communicate product development plans through the building services teams.  The ideal candidate would be highly motivated to perform and grow our product portfolio and team in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities:



  • Successfully deliver new products on schedule and budget for our building services product lines
  • Partner with product management and sales to evolve the service product strategy and roadmap, anticipating and fulfilling the dynamic needs of current and future customers
  • Develop and execute a multigenerational product plan (MGPP) for service products, ensuring that the positioning, pricing, cost, margins and customer value proposition support the overall building services strategy
  • Collaborate with market research team to understand customer needs, and define the customer “Critical to Quality” requirements (CTQs) and associated systems to support new service offerings
  • Initiate and support business cases for NPDs that execute elements of MGPP
  • Define the operating structure and talent profiles require for a world class team, recruit and retain top talent 
  • Engage, develop and coach team members to ensure that they have the motivation and competencies needed to be successful in current and future roles while fulfilling their ongoing career aspirations
  • Establish, optimize and continuously improve the product development processes and procedures to quickly and efficiently deliver solutions that delight our customers
  • Effectively engage cross-functional teams and leaders at all levels in and outside the organization
  • Efficiency leverage global resources, business partners and vendor resources to achieve desired business outcomes




Qualifications:



  • 5-10 years engineering experience developing new and sustaining products
  • 2-5 years managing engineering or technical teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. 
  • Controls or Applied HVAC product knowledge preferred
  • 5+ years experience working with remote overseas engineering teams in addition to teams located here in North America
