We are looking for a dedicated Orthopedic Technician to join our Med-Surg Telemetry Unit, a team known for its strong focus on quality care and patient support.

 

Job Summary:
As an Orthopedic Technician in the Med-Surg Telemetry Unit, you will be integral in assisting patients with orthopedic needs, including applying and removing casts, splints, and braces, as well as supporting the healthcare team in minor orthopedic procedures. This position requires orthopedic expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to educate patients on orthopedic care, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply, adjust, and remove casts, splints, and braces per physician instructions.
  • Assist in minor orthopedic procedures and prepare traction equipment as needed.
  • Educate patients and families on orthopedic care, including cast care and mobility.
  • Document patient interactions and care accurately in the electronic health record.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to provide coordinated patient care.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional healthcare certification preferred.
  • Orthopedic Technician certification or similar relevant training preferred.
  • Previous experience in a Med-Surg, Telemetry, or similar hospital unit is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to patient-centered care
