About the role

The ideal employee has a vast knowledge of the referral process in outpatient clinic/general practice settings. This employee should be a self-starter, self-driven, and organized individual.

What you'll do

Responsible for tracking, coordinating, and communicating patient referrals.
Ensures complete and accurate registration of patients, including demographics and current insurance information.
Handles requests from third-party referral sources and provides necessary information and data.
Gathers information regarding the patient's clinical background and referral needs.
Contacts insurance companies to confirm benefit verification and prior authorization approval requirements.
Reviews details and expectations of the referral with the potential patient.
Guarantees that referrals are processed promptly.
Communicates with referral sources to confirm completeness of patient information and registration.
Performs other assigned duties.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preference for 1+ years of experience in a clinic or hospital setting.
Proficient in medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, ICD and CPT coding (highly advantageous), and electronic medical records.
Innovative thinker with robust conceptual and problem-solving skills.
Meticulous attention to detail with multitasking capabilities.
Strong organizational, administrative, and planning abilities.
Capable of working under pressure and responding effectively in emergency situations.
Discreet handling of sensitive information.
Excellent skills in documentation, communication, and information technology.
