Epic ASAP Emergency Department Analyst

We are seeking an Epic ASAP Emergency Department Analyst to work in our transition to our new EHR system. The ASAP Emergency Analyst is responsible for the successful design, build, configuration, testing, implementation, and support of the Epic ASAP module, which is designed to streamline workflows in the emergency department. This role involves working closely with clinical staff, IT teams, and other stakeholders to ensure the system meets the needs of the healthcare organization and enhances patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze current emergency department workflows and design new workflows that align with the capabilities of the Epic ASAP module.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to understand their needs and ensure the system meets those needs.
  • Configure the Epic ASAP module to match the specific requirements of the healthcare client.
  • Customize templates, order sets, and other system components to optimize emergency department operations.
  • Design and configure SmartForms tailored to the specific needs of the emergency department.
  • Ensure the Epic ASAP module integrates seamlessly with other Epic modules and external systems.
  • Conduct thorough testing of the system to identify and resolve any issues before go-live.
  • Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for emergency department staff.
  • Provide ongoing support to users during and after the implementation to address any issues and ensure smooth operation.
  • Assist in the migration of data from legacy systems to the Epic ASAP module.
  • Validate the accuracy and completeness of the migrated data.
  • Provide on-site support during the go-live phase to ensure a smooth transition to the new system.
  • Address any immediate issues that arise and provide hands-on assistance to users.
  • Monitor the performance of the Epic ASAP module and gather feedback from users.
  • Make necessary adjustments and optimizations to improve system performance and user satisfaction.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, workflows, and user guides.
  • Generate reports on system performance, user feedback, and any issues encountered.
  • Holding weekly communications with team members to discuss deliverable status, risks, budget, and upcoming milestones.
  • Working with Epic representatives, the organization, and end users to ensure the system meets the organization's business needs.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, information technology or a related field.

  • 2-3 years of experience working with Epic systems or similar EHR platform required.

  • High School Diploma with 5 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree.

  • Epic certification preferred; if not certified, must become Epic certified within 3 weeks of completing mandatory Epic training sessions. You must be available to attend the mandatory Epic training session in Wisconsin in early Spring 2025. This training is crucial for providing you with the knowledge and skills needed for your role.

  • Epic ASAP certification preferred.

This role is a HYBRID position requiring frequent on-site work. Must be within a commutable distance.
