  • Prepare and file all sales tax returns
  • Ensure compliance with sales tax requirements for all properties (sales tax registration applications, licenses or certificates, tax rates, and communicating with tax authorities to obtain information)
  • Identify areas for process, systems, and reporting improvements to ensure Company compliance with tax regulations and reduce exposure for any unpaid sales and use tax
  • Assist with sales tax audits (preparing audit data, pulling supporting information, and responding to auditor requests)
  • Answer sales tax related questions and research discrepancies or issues
  • Provide clerical support for the Tax Department
  • Process tax forms and notices
  • Work closely with Accounts Payable department to ensure tax payments are made, including check requests and online payments
  • Provide training and guidance to Sales Tax Analyst
Job Specifications
  • Demonstrate proficient knowledge of computer related skills and accounting systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel and Adobe Acrobat
  • Working knowledge of accounting software/systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Strong analytical, project management, and prioritization skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated with confidence to independently address issues
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to effectively work under tight deadlines
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required
  • Previous accounting or sales tax related experience preferred
  • Master’s degree or CPA preferred
