Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local excise tax regulations. Assist with excise tax audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. Prepare periodic reports on excise tax liabilities and payments. Provide insights and recommendations for improving tax compliance and efficiency. Work closely with other departments to ensure excise tax compliance across all business operations. Identify opportunities to streamline and improve excise tax processes and procedures. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Prepare and post journal entries for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Assist in recording business activity for each fiscal period. Participate in other general ledger projects and duties as assigned. Assist in supporting the annual audit. Qualifications: Education Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required. Qualifications: Experience 2+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. CPA or similar certification is a plus. Qualifications: Competencies Critical business analysis skills that help improve efficiency in business processes. EXCEL user with proven experience using advanced formulas. High level of personal integrity. Persistent in moving projects to completion. Ability to collaborate with team members. Comfortable with test & learn methodology.
