Summary/Objective

A Warehouse and Logistics Lead oversees shipping operations, managing inventory, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring accurate documentation for shipments. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. This role requires completing multiple work tasks as assigned in a fast-paced work environment.

  1. Arrive to work prepared to be productive, knowledgeable, engaging, and helpful.
  2. Provide excellent customer service always. Make it a priority to be courteous, friendly, helpful, and prompt to our visitors, guests, clients, and teammates.
  3. Manage shipping functions for entire organization to include shipping releases, required paperwork, and shipment tracking.
  4. Responsible for handling customer service and customer will call functions to include payment and order verification.
  5. Verify shipments against purchase orders and examine upon arrival.
  6. Prepare items for shipment to customers and/or return to supplier.
  7. Receive material, machinery, chemicals and supplies.
  8. Maintain record keeping systems, mark material with part numbers, date and lot codes, revisions, etc.
  9. Develop and implement shipping and receiving procedures.
  10. Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  11. Maintain in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
  12. Document materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
  13. Prepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
  14. Document product shipment by recording units shipped.
  15. Maintain material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; making operator repairs.
  16. Perform forklift inspections and operate forklift.
  17. Perform various other warehouse related duties using various relative tools as trained and/or assigned.
  18. Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  19. Maintain in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
  20. Document materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
  21. Receive credit-return material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supplies code and lot number and quantity; placing materials in stock.
  22. Prepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
  23. Document product shipment by recording units shipped.
  24. Direct availability and allocation of materials, supplies and finished products.
  25. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Skills/Qualifications: Organization, Scheduling, Analyzing Information, Dealing with Complexity, Deadline-Oriented, Time Management, Process Improvement, Safety Management, Inventory Control, Lifting, Data Entry Skills.
  26. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  27. Work safe always. Follow all required safety training and prevention guidelines including incident reporting procedures.
  28. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed or required.
  29. All other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  1. Ability to provide exemplary and professional customer service both internally with teammates and coworkers and externally with clients, customers, vendors, etc.
  2. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will lead material handlers. This position is a non-supervisory role.

Work Environment

This job operates in a warehouse as well as a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer, phone, photocopier, filing cabinet and fax machine, as well as forklifts, pallet jacks and hand tools. While performing the duties of this job, employee may also conduct duties of the role in other work environments and around building/construction materials and/or tools, moving machinery, loud noise levels and dust particles. This position also performs duties regularly both inside and outside in all seasons and all types of weather conditions, including heat and humidity, cold weather, rainy conditions, and other seasonal weather elements. Employee should abide by all safety standards set form by the location and utilize protective equipment if required.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with aid. Specific vision abilities required by this job include hearing, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type

This position is currently offered as full-time with work hours typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 am 5 pm. Some evening and weekend overtime may be required. Work schedule to be assigned by department management and subject to change depending on business needs.

Travel

This position does not regularly require travel.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Minimum of high school diploma or equivalency
  2. Minimum of 4 years production scheduling or supply chain experience
  3. Ability to change and adapt to a fast-moving business environment technological changes and product advancements require an open mind and flexibility to be successful
  4. Ability to operate pallet jack and forklift
  5. Must have a valid drivers license
