North State Bank has an exciting opportunity for an SBA Portfolio Manager in the Government Lending department. The SBA Portfolio Manager is responsible for servicing existing loans, conducting/underwriting annual reviews and responding to servicing action requests.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinates the annual review process, reviews financial analysis to ensure that borrower and guarantors continue to meet profitability, repayment obligations, operating trends and determines if there are any financial indicators that would show current or potential stress with financial situation.
  2. Mitigates risk by monitoring technical loan conditions to include insurance, taxes and other loan requirements.
  3. Performs servicing actions including modifications, deferrals, collateral sale or substitution, lien release and/or refiling to accommodate the refinance of senior lien on bank collateral.
  4. Manages all loan workouts and liquidations coordinating with borrower, borrower's counsel, credit administration, SBA and others. Liquidation actions may include analysis of recoverable value and coordinating the sale of property.
  5. Facilitates reports and packages to SBA, such as purchase packages, wrap-up reports, litigation plans, requests for approval of receiver, SARs (semi-annual report), requests for approval of workouts plans, etc.
  6. Maintains financial review tracking log that monitors reviews completed, outstanding reviews, updated financials and missing documentation.
  7. Provides weekly status report on past due loans and workout loans to senior management.
  8. Reviews weekly past due report and monitors.
  9. Collaborates with Chief Credit Officer and Credit Administration on loans involving litigation or preparation of documents to support a servicing action or workout.
  10. Adheres to Bank, SBA, USDA policies, laws and regulations that govern commercial lending.
  11. Responds to various general inquiries from borrowers.

Qualifications (Includes education, certifications, experience, etc.):

  1. A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or other related field or a combination of education and experience.
  2. Six or more years in government lending including servicing.
  3. Possess a thorough understanding of government lending SOP's and banking regulations.
  4. Possess a highly developed analytical ability and business relations skills.
  5. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.
  6. The ability to work as a team is imperative.
  7. A strong customer service orientation while demonstrating prioritization, organizational and multi-tasking skills with a sense of urgency.
