Outside Sales Rep – Building Materials

We are looking for a motivated and outgoing Outside Sales Rep experienced with Millwork and Trim to join an exciting new opportunity with a growing team The Outside Sales Repwill be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with contractors and developers as they play a pivotal role as the main liaison between the company and clients, ensuring exceptional service, delivery, and tailored solutions. The Outside Sales Repalso actively identifies new business opportunities within the contractor and developer segment, while staying updated on industry trends and competitors activities.

Job Type: Full Time

Responsibilities for the Outside Sales Rep:

  • Ensure delivery of target sales by meeting with customers and maintaining relationships
  • Recommend service and product enhancements to improve sales potential
  • Analyze plans and trends to ensure best assignment of territories, clients, and service distribution.
  • Maintain technical and professional knowledge by reviewing professional publications, participating in industry networks, and growing lasting client relationships
  • Establish sales objectives by projecting expected sales volumes and forecasting.
  • Remain relevant with economic indicators, changing trends, supply and demand shifts, and product mix.
  • Positively contribute to full sales and customer service teams
  • Develop and collaborate on long- and short-term sales strategies

Requirements of the Outside Sales Rep:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of Outside Sales experience
  • Strong knowledge of lumber, building materials, and millwork
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to establish rapport and build relationships with customers
  • Highly motivated and results-oriented
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills
