Our client is looking for a Technical Sales Manager for Energy Saving Ceilings to cover the West Coast region. The primary territory will include California, along with parts of Oregon, Washington, and Nevada, with occasional service to other western states. In this role, you will achieve sales goals by driving business through multiple channels. You'll work directly with key energy influencers such as ESCOs (Energy Service Companies), EaaS (Energy as a Service) providers, energy services project developers, project development engineers, and energy consultants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieving sales targets and driving business growth by expanding market share, increasing average unit price, sales volume, and introducing new products, while successfully closing major projects.
  • Identifying key energy influencers in the western U.S. and building mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Serving as the subject matter expert for the commercial sales team and customers on energy-related matters.
  • Managing or contributing to a dynamic list of top opportunities within your assigned territory.
  • Identifying key projects in the early design stages (pre-planning/schematics), overseeing them from concept to order closure and final installation to ensure a seamless total customer experience.
  • Collaborating with the Commercial Area Sales Manager, local sales teams, Corporate Strategic accounts, and MRO business to provide expert guidance on projects requiring specialized knowledge.
  • Identifying emerging technologies and adjacent business opportunities to drive the energy-saving ceiling business.
  • Working closely with Project Engineers, Architects, Design-Build Contractors, and ESCO/EaaS companies to promote the ROI value.
  • Strategizing to secure wins at every stage of the project lifecycle by leveraging design services.
  • Participating in regional team meetings, including ESC meetings, to assist with project priorities and strategy development.
  • Targeting high-value strategic projects within the region, particularly in sectors such as transportation, higher education, and healthcare.
  • Utilizing Salesforce (CRM) to track project follow-up activities, next steps, and maintain an active pipeline.
  • Gathering and sharing insights on competitors, market trends, product opportunities, and other key business intelligence to drive growth.
  • Focusing on continuous learning and improvement through individual and team education, specialized training, and enhancing technical skills.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering degree preferred).
  • Experience in the Energy Service Company (ESCO) or Energy as a Service (EaaS) segments preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in the energy services industry.
  • Familiarity with architectural renderings, drawings, and bid documents.
  • Proven ability to develop influential, strategic relationships with key customers.
  • Experience in creating reports, tracking metrics, preparing executive presentations, and managing financial data for a multi-million-dollar region.
  • Demonstrates the highest standards of workplace safety and business ethics.
  • Proficient in Salesforce, Bluebeam, Adobe, PowerPoint, and MS Office.
